The Great Getaway at Kamp Kiwani 2017

The Great Getaway is a chance for Adult Girl Scouts (18 and older) and Alumnae to “get away from it all.” This is for you to relax and learn new things. This is a place to get back to being a girl and have fun at camp while making new friends along the way. Current troop leaders, former volunteers and alumnae are welcome to join in the fun. The Great Getaway will expose you to the fun of camping at Kamp Kiwani and give you the opportunity to share with other adults throughout Girl Scouts Heart of the South.
Activities could include:
- Sign up for Kaper Chart
- Cook out your own Saturday Supper
- Folk Dancing – Friday Night
- Crafts – Friday Night "Make & Take"
- Hiking
- Horseback Riding*
- Basket weaving*
- Canoeing/Kayaking
- Archery
- Group Singing
- Challenge Course
- Campfire (with S'mores of course)
- Event Camp License Training (1 ½ hours)
- Official Girl Scout Ceremonies Training(1 hour)
- Songs Training (1 hour)
- Games Training (1 hour)
- Projects, Badges & Journeys Training(1 hour)

ACCOMMODATIONS & EQUIPMENT NEEDED
Adult participants will be housed in rustic cabins. Bathhouse facilities are centrally located. The accommodations are provided at no additional cost to you. Kamp Kiwani is a camp facility, so wear comfortable clothing, shoes and dress for the weather. A sleeping bag or personal linens, pillow and a flashlight are required if spending the night. Other recommendations are: jacket; water bottle; towel; a folding chair (optional) and recording device for songs (optional).
